So much for Duke.

So much for senior leadership. Duke had four seniors. LSU played six freshmen.

So much for Duke's national -- even international -- recruiting. LSU played five guys from the Baton Rouge, La., area.

Duke is going home because Hall-of-Fame coaches don't play, history can't score and no team has ever won a national title playing two against five.

Duke will never admit it, but it is impossible not to sense that game's most elite program didn't quite rise to the challenge from a bunch of Louisiana freshmen led by a sophomore named "Big Baby."
