how is it a non point when this particular gun has a long track record of firing without the trigger being touched? And no one said ban it, make the ****er safer.

defective products are an issue between manufacturers and owners of that gun, not politics.

Same thing happening to Toyota when, in fact, there's not a damned thing wrong with the car. It's a bunch of geezers hitting the accelerator instead of the brake. But all of the consumer advocates are determined to make it Toyota's fault. Toyotas don't kill people. Stupid old bastards who shouldn't be driving kill people.

So even the documented military footage that shows the Remington 700 firing without the trigger being pulled is the military sniper's fault? People who are trained to use that weapon as an extension of themselves?

    Did the gun load itself?

Did it chamber the round itself?

Did the gun take its own safety off?

Did it point itself at a person it wasn't supposed to kill?

If the gun is defective and fires unexpetedly the military should not buy it anymore. End of story. No legislation is necessary.

when the hell did I say ban, outlaw, or bring up legislation for Remington 700's? Oh that's right, I didn't.

Why else would you bring it up in a thread about gun legislation? Are you saying you have posted umpteen times on something that is not relevant to the conversation?

why did you mention it then? its a non issue, its not relevant. maybe some gun is defective or whatever, what of it?

you have a tendency to make irrelevant non-points.

    And Martin,

Because I was talking to Swerved about a comment he made that said "people kill people, guns don't". I was giving an example of when Remington 700's were fired without the trigger being pulled.

not that I have to justify myself to either of you but there you go.

If they are so irrelevant why the hell do you reply? Oh I know, because it makes you feel so much better about yourself to sit here and try to prove people wrong on the internet. Congrats.
