In case you guys didn't know, the guy who created and wrote this show is from Lake Charles. I knew his brother vaguely in middle school.
I really believe True Detective is one of the best shows on television and nothing I've read about what's coming up has changed my mind. The format -- anthology series with a defined number of episodes -- isn't necessarily ground breaking. American Horror Story does that as well as any. But what sets True Detective apart is the one writer and one director for the entire season. That allows the episodes to flow seamlessly. I'm also a little surprised no one has commented on Alexandra Daddario. She really is just lovely.
