I saw where Holliday is going to gray shirt. I dont know why are we expecting a influx of players we dont know about. DOes anybody know? Is he a partial qualifier or something?

Holliday is undersized, but fast. He probably wants an extra year of development, likely to put on some size. If he can put on 15 pounds, he will be more like Shyrone Carey, less like Michael Lewis (saints)

I know of nothing specific regarding Holliday. However, whether he gets his scholarship in the fall or in January will have no effect on how many we can sign next year. The reason is that an athelete who enrolls next Jan. can count as an initial counter either next year or this year if we didn't exceed the max #. I can think of a few reasons for grayshirting.

    1. He is small and needs to get stronger. If he is disciplined enough, grayshirting will allow him to do so without starting his eligiblity clock.
    2. Maybe he is not qualified, but I really don't have a clue here.
    3. It gives the coaches a little more flexibility on the 85 limit. In other words they can give another deserving walk-on a scholarship. But I don't know if that is needed with this small of a class.
It could be any one or combination of these and possibly something else.

    Greyshirting because he doesn't qualify.
