Rushing 111.2 (20th) The Motor is gone! 294.3 Looking at the stats of what is considered the top 4 teams in the SEC, you can see that LSU is the #2 offense, ranked only behind Florida, and is the only team that returns every starter (if you count Niswanger and Randall as starters). They were by far the top defense of these teams and once again they return the most starters. Feel free to add any comments...
Also throw in the fact that Cialis Fashion is gone, and expect that number to decrease. Of course, the 'spread-option' offense may boost it, as well.:dis:
Great comparison....I've been saying all along I just don't quite get all this hero worship at the altar of the Urban Legend. The Gators lost their top RB in Ciatrick Fason, their best football player in LB Channing Crowder, they're having to learn new offensive and defensive systems and Meyer has been changing Leak's throwing motion, but yet everyone still thinks they're going to win it all. And it's those same pundits who don't give a whole lot of credence to LSU because of the coaching change. It just baffles me - Urban Meyer may be a great coach, the best ever, but he hasn't coached a down in the SEC. He's coached against weak competition in the MAC and Mountain West...light years away from the level of the SEC. Les Miles has coached in the Big 12 which may not be at the same level as the SEC but it's still light years ahead of the MAC and MWC. Plus, the OU Sooners who have been in the NC game for like three of the last four years, oh by the way Les Miles' Oklahoma State teams beat those same Sooners two out of the four times they played.
That gets me too. Miles comes into a near-NFL team, and everyone is doubter. Urban Myth inherents a team with only moderate talent, and all of a sudden he's Knute-freaking-Rockne.
This was the coaching change comment taken from the Bama preview in another thread: It will be interesting to read the Florida preview when it comes out.
This problem usually happens on offense... but LSU is keeping the same offense because they have the same o-coordinator... so the transition pains will be LESS at LSU that at UF..
