1. After this past week, I've come to the conclusion that Nick Saban was our "once in a lifetime" coach, such as Bear Bryant at Alabama or Spurrier at Florida. How many years into the future will we compare every current LSU football coach to Saban?
  2. One national championship for Saban in five years.
Two SEC championships in five years.
Two seasons with ten or more wins in five years.

    ......

Two conference losses of twenty-four or more points in his third year.
Four seasons with three or more losses in five years.
One late come from behind home victory over Troy State in his fifth year.
One Twenty-Nine point blowout loss to Georgia in his fifth year.

Hmm, 2003 was definitely a magical year. One to be treasured forever.
  3. I been watching nigh onto 40 years, and yep, he was our Bear.

Dietzel was a hot rod, and could possibly have been a Bear, but he had to go back and take his "glory" job at Army. Too bad.

But, Saban is the best thing to go through Baton Rouge in my life. A real football coach.
  4. If he is someone better tell him he's supposed to be here for at least another decade...
  5.
  6. He is more or our Wolverine.. small, ferocious...
  7. We were burgularized if Saban was our "Bear".

  8. Rep points for a logical (and truthful) post. :geauxtige :geauxtige
  9. As much as Saban did for us during his short stay, he definately brought us memorable times, but when I think of what Bear Bryant means to 'Bama, I think of winning games and longevity.

    Charlie Mac is our Bear
    Saban is our Gene Stallings

    Just my opinion.
  10. Is this list growing? I saw it the other day and wondered why I wasn't on it. Glad to see you got on the ball. :yelwink2:
