Not to devalue what Tom Brady has done, NOR to imply that Russell is on par with a future NFL Hall of Famer, but in the aspect if you were to compare the two and how they each began in their respective levels of competition there are similarities with the way Russell is winning to that of how Brady started winning. Both had great W-L records as a starter to begin their careers. Brady wasn't known for his accuracy at first either. Neither would post the best passing numbers each week, but oddly, when the offense needed to drive down the field in the 4th quarter, they both seem to know how to get it done.
thats a great point. Its all about winning football games and that is what he is doing. I love this guy because he seems like he would just lay down when he is struggling because of his attitude but he fights as well as anybody.
it was also obvious that russell was still a little dinged up because he only threw his hail mary like 60 yards. We all know that jamarcus can throw farther than that.
he may turn out to be the next best thing since sliced bread but keep one thing in mind. this thread wouldn't exist if he was better than Mauck. this thread was posted in his defense. does his play need defending? it must. that being said.... I support him 110 % My take on it is he must be the best we have from the coaches viewpoint. If that's the case he gives us the best oppurtunity to win. he's coming along and personally I think he is just one game away from that spotlight kind of QB play. He's made some spectacular plays and some bone head mistakes. But there were no turnovers in this last game. Some sloppy play from all players but no turnovers. That's progress. this thread wouldnt exist if idiots wouldnt be blind to his progress and improved play and knew that he was 9-1 as a starter yet continuously calling him aaron brooks. blind to the fact hes a sophomore and just in his first year as a starter yet want someone better? fact is those idiots are wrong and can't see the light of day. because some here feel the NEED to defend him from said idiots is the truly sad part. especially from self proclaimed LSU FANS. gimme a break.
