As an LSU fan, and one who lives in Memphis, I have seen a lot of JJ over the years, and see him as a good fit to return to LSU (if the position were to come open). What do you guys think?

Wasn't Johnny Jones the assistant that was passing money to Lester Earl?

He was accused of it but I think the final decision by NCAA was that there wasn't enough evidence.......

"The bullet" was also a good recruiter:
Ronnie Henderson, Duane Spencer, Randy Livingston and Deuce Ford. He was also on the staff which landed Shaquille O'Neal and Chris Jackson. :thumb:

I don't really want any assistants from that era to be involved with the program as a head coach.

I know he is from "that era", but he is a classy guy, good coach, and has paid his dues since then. I just think he would be an interesting candidate. I would take his integrity over John Brady's in an instant.

The NCAA Gestapo practically gave us a death penalty for his alleged actions. I don't want to tempt fate one more time, unless it really did kill the program and that money could go towards football.

I just wanted to put a feeler out, and now I see the residing sentiment. I disagree about his character because I saw it first hand here in Memphis. I don't know if he was guilty or innocent, but I believe in Grace regardless. He is regarded as classy up here, so go figure.

    Regardless, I respect everyone's opinion....

Johnny Jones was a tremendous recruiter at LSU. He'll get consideration when we next have an opening. He got hoodwinked by Lester Earl, but he's likely smarter now.
