I have to say I think that its not a bad thing for JR. The Oakland offensive line is terrible, hopefully this will buy JR a few games to get ready while Dante takes a beating. I'd be shocked to not see JR in there by week 5-6, then again that sham of an organization won't even pony up the standard money. I'm happy JR went number 1, just wish it could have been to somewhere else.

Um, no it's not. It's only a one year deal for a guy who's 30 years old. He stunk it up in Miami and most likely won't even play that much. At most he'll play a few games, suck completely, and then they'll bring in JR. But teams like to sit their rookie quarterback for the first season and just let him learn. This is what the Bengals did with Carson Palmer when they sat him for a season and let Kitna be QB... And it didn't seem to hurt Palmer at all. This is a good thing for Russell. He's going to take a ton of hits behind that awful o-line in Oakland, and hopefully someone else can take some of those hits before Russell has to go in.

Thx for the info, but I was joking.. I did not believe that Josh was competition for Dante, much less JaMarcus... Anyway thx for an honest answer to my post.

Well, say what you will, but Culpepper isn't a shabby QB. Right off the bat, he should do better than Russell. I didn't mean that signing another QB is a slap-in-the-face, just a QB like Culpepper. I don't know. The entire Raiders organization stinks anyway, not sure that I didn't expect something like that.

I don't necessarily see Culpepper's arrival as a bad thing. I'm sure he can coach Russell a bit about being in the pros..
