In 5 seasons at LSU Nick Saban (Les Miles 1 year) has almost taken our Tigers to 5 SEC West Titles. Total points separating the Tigers from - Back to Back to Back to Back West Division Titles.... 2 f cking pts. Great Job Tigers - Geaux to hell Ole Miss 2001 - LSU over Tennessee (West was pretty weak this year) 2002 - LSU loses west 21-20 against Arkansas 2003 - LSu over Georgia ( Beat Ole Miss to clinch West) 2004 - LSU loses west to Auburn early in a 10-9 game. 2005 - LSU over Arkansas to win the West yet again... Damn Auburn refs and Matt Jones
Actually comes down to 2 plays. The pass by Arky for the TD and the pass on 4th down by Auburn. Pretty amazing. And I think LSU easily beats the crap out of Tennessee in the SEC CG. So that's 3 SEC titles as well.
As much as I felt kind of down this year, Saban will rival Spurrier pretty soon with his accomplishments at LSU. Dare I say If Saban keeps coaching College FB as long as Bobby Bow, JoePa, or Bear... we may see one of the best college football coaches of all time.
Yea, I think UGA hands our ass to us in 2002 though, but I think we will be the best in the west next year, probably the best in the SEC as long as Russell learns the system and matures.
Its all a matter of scheduling.. LSU will dominate in Odd numbered years because in those years we get an easier schedule.. 2001, 2003... both great years.. 2002, 2004, both good years with disappointments.. look for the LSU D to be even better next year, and for the O to step up bigtime led by Addai, Brossard, and Vincent, and a host of EXPERIENCED wideouts.. LSU will return 10 starters on offense (whitworth probably wont leave with a disappointing year) and 7 on defense, with prude (given an extra year from what ive seen) and stevenson filling in at the corners..
loco, no doubt the odd number year tends to favor us as far as scheduling goes right now, with Auburn, Florida and Arkansas as definite homes games and Bama in tusc., which is almost like a home game for us now.
Under Saban, LSU is averaging 10 wins a season, has two SEC and one National championship, and has produced a ton of All Americans and NFL players. Anybody who is disappointed in another potential 10-win season has no grip on reality.
