Can someone explain what a sponsor is?? Is he in some kind of 12 step program or something?

A sponsor volunteers to pay all or part of a kids tuition to attend a military academy for a year.

How old is he that he couldn't play his senior year in highschool?

If he can barely get through high school do we honestly think he will get through college legitimately?

Grades were not a recent problem (He did fail a grade before HS). He transferred to Hargrave to finish HS so that he could play football his senior season. He turned 19 before the fall semester, and by LHSAA rules, he was not eligible to compete. The LHSAA made this rule to avoid holding kids back for athletics. EDIT: There are kids with talent who regularly enroll in these types of schools when they are not eligible due to age restrictions.

He was an honor roll student at Hargrave.

Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't know all the details.
I've heard this guy is awesome, and is a stud athlete, I can't wait to see him play. Kudos to him for making the honor roll.

I wonder who stepped up to the plate to pay the tuition?

Very good question there. Fortunately it appears as though LSU has done its homework on this.
