From what I have read he may not be eligible because he didn't have enough transferable credits.

Saw it on dandydon:

Dexter Manley did not have enough transferable credits from the California junior college he was attending to enroll at LSU next August. Dunbar was very disappointed in losing the two players. Dunbar told me that Manley will likely sign with Oregon.

Really some bad news about Manley. I really thought he would be a great Tiger. Now he has to wear those hideous uniforms and play in a 45,000 seat stadium.
