What does that say about our depth at DL? Our talent there must just be incredible when we can try one of the best DL prospects in the nation at OL. I also remember hearing that the kid from Ehret--Drake Nevis--I think that was his name, was extremely strong in the weight room and looked to be a good addition to the DL.

I know we rarely get top 100 recruits on the OL, but I don't see the move as a knock on our talent on the OL. I just think we are loaded on defense.

Exactly, it could really be a great move and make us stronger, as a team. :thumb:

There was a short thread on it in the den if you're interested.

I checked out Barksdale on scout and it says nothing about him playing on the offensive side of the ball in high school.

Barksdale did play both ways in HS, but predominately DT I believe. That was/is his preferred position, but not necessarily his natural position. He looked pretty good in the Spring Game at DT, so for them to move him I imagine he should be great at OT if he stays there.

Thanks for the good info everyone. I naturally thought OT also with his height, but of course big Herman played at guard for us. Perhaps he becomes one of our few 5 star OL recruits, but just in a round about way. It is certainly comforting to know that other teams wanted him at OL first also. Ciron Black played quickly, perhaps he can see the field soon.

I took a second look at the depth chart and saw that we are a bit untested depth wise at the OT position. I feel good about our 1st string and the recruits we signed.though. Remember we moved Hitt over to the OG position too from the DL.
