I had no idea there were only 5 horses in that race but it could have been 500 the way Secretariat ran that race. No horse was beating him that day.
I wouldn't have been surprised if Secretariat had been the only horse. It costs big bucks to enter a horse in a Triple Crown race and by the time the Belmont came around it was obvious to everybody that there wasnt a horse and the world who could beat Secretariat.
Such a filthy sport. Baffert was close to getting a lifetime ban already. i dont think its natural for a thoroughbreds heart to simply explode in its prime.
