I was rewatching the BCSNCG last night and was reminded of our horrible kickoffs. Anyone positive coming down the pipe for the Tigers next year?

I think we will be fine with whom we have on the team right now. Aleman as well as one other kicker (can't remember which one) have strong legs and once they get their technique down this summer, one should emerge as the guy to kickoff. A lot of their kicks have been going inside the 5 yard line on a pretty consistent basis.

Drew Alleman will handle kickoffs and Brady Dalfrey will be our punter.

:geaux::crystal::helmet: Whoever it is, I wish they could kick at least a few through or at least in to the end zone next season. Last season, I don't know if I saw one kick all year go deeper than the 5 to 7 yard line! It was so frustrating when it seemed like many other teams had kickers who were booming kicks left and right.
Hopefully the young guys last year (Crutchfield and Jaspers) have had a year to strenghten their legs in Coach Moffit's program. Also, with Alleman and Dalfrey coming in, kicking into and through the end zone will hopefully become the norm. The kicker is such a big weapon in the game when you consistently cut kick off returns out of the picture. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:

I don't know bout Jasper but Crutchfield doesn't seem like hardworker. I have a class with Crutchfield and Josh Dw... whatever his name is, the OT. When they got back from Spring Break he was talking to Josh Dw.. about how he didn't do any of the workouts Miles wanted them to do during the break and he hadn't even kicked a ball in awhile. He just doesn't seem like he has much initiative at all.

:geaux::crystal::helmet: Hate to hear that. With that type of attitude, there may be another scholly available for the '09 Class. Maybe he saw the writing on the wall with Alleman coming in and Jasper already there. Only time will tell. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:

He better wise up, it's not like his scholarship is guaranteed especially with the # of kickers on the team and one (Alleman) who would love to earn his scholarship.

Kickers are never going to be the hardest working guys. They sit around most of practice anyway. There's only so much kicking that they can do.

That being said, philter is right, Alleman will likely be taking one of those guys' schollies so they should be working harder.

They just have to work harder than the other kickers.

If I had a full ride as a kicker, I wouldn't be resting on my laurels. Sweep that leg, young man...

You're thinking is correct, the very best ones do work a lot. I know what Parson meant though, relatively speaking in the context of practice.
