1. Again - maybe. But after loving my Kindle for two years, it sits quietly on my dresser while I read Kindle books on my iPhone, which does not need a night light and allows me to do a lot more than just read the book.
  2. really. i tried to read kindle books on my ipod touch and i hated it. the screen didnt hold enough words. plus i dont like backlight.

to further illustrate how great the kindle is: tonight a friend was talking about watership down, which i have not read. so i went to amazon, clicked the one click kindle button, and now the book is waiting for me on my nightstand. inatsnt, no docking, no hassle. love it. 5$.

  3. Watership Down. Great book. A friend of mine named his band Watership Down. Then they got signed to a record label (Wind Up Records) and had to change their name b/c of copyright issues.

    Anywho, great book.
  4. Oh - I recommend Kindle to anyone I come across who likes to read. I agree - it's really a great product.

Lately, though - I read mostly at night and I don't want to disturb the natives, so I need a little light. And I haven't found a book light yet that doesn't pizz me (or the natives) off.

At first I didn't like how few words made it on to the screen. Now, I just absent mindedly tap the edge of the screen and the next page quickly scrolls on, and I continue reading.

If I read more in the daytime than night time (or for more than an hour or two at a time (battery life), I would not choose the iPhone, probably.

Kindle rocks. But I bet there are more folks like me who don't like having to use a book light and have migrated to reading on their iPhones.
  5. The iPhone is much too small for anyone over 40 to use as a reading device.
  6. <===========. Over 40 and posting/reading on iPhone right now.
  7. <-- Over 50 and can only see my blackberry with glasses.

Kindle is great. Library for Kindle, not so much.
  8. <----- 49 in June. I can't see this damned computer screen w/o glasses.
  9. your days are numbered my friend. Have you not noticed yourself squinting to see the tv? It creeps up on you w/o you ever seeing it coming.
  10. have been near sighted and blind as a bat since third grade. but still dont have reading glasses. every year my eye dr just tells me to wait, they're comin. i guess i'll just have to go for the little librarian look when i finally get to that point. :hihi:
