I was listening to ESPN HD radio on the road today and Kiper came on. The dude (whoever was subbing for Dan Patrick) asked him for his top 5 players including seniors and underclassmen. Kiper broke it down like this:
    1. Quinn
    2. Thomas OT-Wisconsin
    3. Jamarcus Russell
    4. Calvin Johnson
    5. Can't remember bc I was in shock from #3.

He then started rattling off players to make up his top 10, and wouldn't you know it, he named Glenn Dorsey.
So with the Raiders and Lions probably picking 1 & 2, and both needing qbs...
Looks like Jamarcus might get the mike martz treatment next year. I bet Roy Williams is salivating just thinking about it.
And then you have to figure Laron is a top 15 pick...so three Tigers going in the first 15 picks = not too shabby.

A few weeks ago he was on some radio show talking about which NCAA team had the most NFL level talent. Talked about ND, USc, Michigan, others, then said for pure depth of NFL talent, LSU was number 1.

With that in mind, and the projections by talent scouts that LSU has more talent than any other school, does that take some of the luster off Miles?

Dwayne Bowe will go in the Top 20. So that's 4 Tigers in the Top 20.

Why do you people always spin things that way??!!:dis:

Although I think he's a great reciever with blocking skills, decent hands, and great size, he will not go in the top 40, much less 20.:nope: Still one of my all time favorite Tigers for his clutch catches.

Now that the Saints have secured a bye in the first round of the playoffs, their first round pick will be between numbers 25-32. It sure would be nice to see another Tiger playing in New Orleans. Maybe Landry will drop a few positions and the Saints can trade up a few spots to get him. It would be great to see him show his frustration (in slipping a few picks) by ringing Michael Vick's bell a few times!

I normally watch the first few hours of the draft because the Saints usually pick pretty early. It will be nice watching this year because we'll see our Tigers selected early. :geauxtige

Buster Davis is now listed as #25 on Kiper's Big Board. That means JR, Laron, Dorsey, Bowe and Buster (that's five for you all counting along at home) first round draft picks for LSU players potentially. That would be huge for LSU's recruiting.

That is one hell of a lot of talent that could not even win the SECW.

The thing I hate about it is the national media is just now catching on to the point they want to talk about it. All season was Ohio State, Michigan, USC and Notre Dame - while the most talented team was LSU. Too bad we got jobbed by the refs at AU.

We have an awful lot of great players, don't get me wrong, but IF Jamarcus comes out, we have MAYBE 3 first round picks. Jamarcus, Dorsey, and Landry. Bowe is second rounder, and Davis is third round, maybe. Early Doucet is probably second round NFL material as well, because of his size and athleticism.

How would that take the luster off of what Miles accomplished? Just because he did not recruit the seniors or juniors that may be going pro does not mean he does not deserve credit for what has been accomplished the last two years.
