He is not a great recruiter but not uncommon for OCs. He does have plenty of contacts in Texas and can at least pass on some targets and coaches in the area over to Frank. As Izzy said I expect him to target QBs.

That ought to be good for what, 1 recruit?

Sounds like he should've been hired as a QB coach and us find an OC.

I don't mind the hire given his performance to date as an OC. I was also pulling for an OC/QB coach combo. Getting deeply involved in recruiting as an OC is not really necessary given our staff at this point.

This is a good thing that he is a QB coach. It is what we need for the next season and beyond.
His recruiting ability does not really concern me, I mean we are already in the top 5 in recruiting this season right, I think we have some great recruiters on staff already.
As long as he improves the offense and develops our QBs well I think he will be doing a great job.

    R.C. Slocum says he's a good recruiter:

    ParadiseiNC don't worry, be happy

Also, RC clears up what people were questioning regarding SKs wife's health issues. She has MS and had heart surgery apparently. Those saying "mental issues" were a bit off. Yes, MS affects the brain, but I would not categorize it as a mental, or emotional, condition. It is a very unfortunate, unpredictably debilitating condition. Sounds like he took time off to support her recovery and needs. As RC describes it, SK sounds like a man of great character, someone right in line with the CLM mold!

Running a pro style offense effectively will do wonders for recruiting. A recruit seeing a successfully ran pro style offense should see it as a positive in compared to learning to play in a scheme that won't be used in the pros.

Good point, overlooked this one. If a recruit is smart and plan to play on the professional level then going to a college program that has pro style offense would make the transition easier, than say a spread.
