I feel the same way about small planes. For me, the bigger the jet, the better. And, yes, I realize that cars are far more dangerous.
Biggest problem trying to figure out what happened is that more than likely this aircraft did not have a cockpit voice recorder or flight data recorder, survivors could be critical in this incident.
Possible, big difference between AVGAS (very high octane gasoline used for non jet aircraft) and Jet fuel which is closer to kerosene. Either one in the wrong type of aircraft could be catastrophic. Haven't flown non-military in a long, long time. But, I would have to think that the equipment to refuel (fuel nozzles and receptacles, etc.) for each are very different and would require gross negligence on somebody's part for that to happen.
i was curious so i looked it up. turns out small private planes are roughly as dangerous as cars, which is to say, really dangerous. https://www.livescience.com/49701-private-planes-safety.html cars are getting safer and wrecks more survivable, because they are built far safer. but wrecks are going up because fools are on their phones. when people say they fear flying i give them the mocking they deserve. but it they mean small private planes, i would keep quiet, as it is actually pretty risky.
I feel the same way about cars. And airliners that I don't know how to fly. Remember that German pilot who committed suicide by deliberately flying his planeload of passengers into a mountain. I sure hope no airline has any muslim pilots.
