1. I pray they never get into it with Gamecock fans.
  2. I wonder if South Carolina and Oregon St has played against
    each other? :hihi:
  3. That article was just talking about mascots - people dressing in some goofy ass costume. Stanford, Syracuse and Western Kentucky take the cake as being bad. Centenary used to have a Gentleman mascot that looked like a rejected Penguin costume from the Batman TV series. Now if we start talking about stupid nicknames, to me the worst of all has to be the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys. Schools that use a color for a nickname is also weak - Harvard Crimson, Dartmouth Big Green, Stanford Cardinal, Syracuse Orange - so lame! And I also really disliked it when a lot of these schools changed monikers that referenced Indians like - Marquette was the Warriors now the Golden Eagles, St. John was the Redmen, now the Red Storm, Miami U of Ohio was the Redskins and now the RedHawks, Stanford also fits into this category.
  4. It must be something about schools whose primary color is GREEN that can't decide on a nickname or mascot. Because, like Delta State whose nickname is the Statesmen but use the Fighting Okra moniker, the Univeristy of North Texas is officialy the Eagles, but is known as the Mean Green. You'll see the men's teams referred to as the Mean Green but the women called the Lady Eagles. It's as bad and confusing as Auburn with Plainsman, Tigers and chanting War Eagle....jeez - make up your mind already!
  5. I am still laughing at Fighting Okra! (Who is their rival, the tomatoes?)
  6. and the new cheer for the fighting Okra

    cucumber sandwich
    stewed tomatoes
    we're the best ingredient
    seee ya' later
  7. North Texas calls themselves the Mean Green in honor of their most distinguished football alum...Mean Joe Greene. True story.
  8. The worst thing about this cheer is they must pronounce "tomatoes" as "tomaters" in order to rhyme. And these hillbillies wonder how they get an ignorant reputation!
