    LaSalleAve when in doubt, mumble

You know, after thinking about this for a few days, Chizik showed great class in what he did sitting on the ball, and if his players want to celebrate with their fans with waste time left, let em go ahead, they deserve it.

People should get over it. AU could have ran it right up our ass and there was not a single thing we could do about it..

Would LSU have done any different? After possibly gaining the #1 ranking in the country for the first time in 3 years with the world on their shoulders? Prob not..

AU played in beast mode and fankly, deserved to do whatever they wanted in THEIR OWN HOUSE....

This is a good way to look at it. They won a big game and ended it with class.

(Of course, if CLM did that, folks would want his head for missing out on "style points". :geaux:

No, a meaningless add-on touchdown in the waning seconds of a game that's already won isn't style points, its being a jerk. Style points is when you can score 42 in the first 3 quarters and then run the ball down their throats in the 4th and still score a couple more to show total domination without running it up intentionally and unnecessarily. See 2010 Oregon Ducks.

Fortunately with CLM at the helm, we don't have to worry about being accused of running up the score on anyone, so that's a positive.

It's also being safe and playing smart football. Teams have fumbled on meaningless runs and lost games before. So you take a knee and run out the clock. Nothing particularly gallant about it.
