We aren't getting respect because we don't deserve it yet. We lost at home to a mediocre Tennessee team. We just barely beat an Arizona State team that has a defense just about any school could whip like a red headed step child. We had more luck than skill in getting that win over Auburn and then had the brass to crow about it. The rankings are pretty much right, except that LSU is better than both Penn State and VT.

The Tigers have been up and down all year, never really putting it together in a way that makes one want to say that this team is the real deal. The offense is a mistake machine and the defense has a switch that keeps shorting out..On..Off...On...Off. They're frustrating to watch. The coaches don't seem to have a real handle on things in a way that gives the players the kind of confidence they need to play at a high level every down every game. The talent's there. It's just misused.

I watched Miami whip VT Saturday night and they looked pretty stout. They were large and in charge. Their defense made Marcus Vick looked terrible. I feel VT's pain - they've got an ineffectual quarterback everyone loves and hypes.

Penn State isn't as good as billed - they're living off that old man's past reputation. As for the rest of the rankings, they seem to be pretty accurate.

We'll all know just what kind of team the Tigers really are after Saturday's rumble in 'Bama. If we win, then we'll have something to complain about. If we don't well, then we'll REALLY have something to complain about.

Which would most likely be against LSU in the sugar bowl.

    Miami--Orange

    LSU--Sugar

Unless the BCS steps in like they are licensed to do but have not yet done so, and orders different matchups to generate the most interest, like a 3 vs 4.

I find it hard to believe that if we beat the current BCS #3 (and assuming they win out) and current BCS #9(who will move up if they win out), that we do not jump Miami. I sure hope we can and do.

Don't leave ND out of the BCS yet. I think they get an automatic bid if they finish (not sure about this number) 8th or 12th or better.

It ain't about respect. We are getting higher rankings from the voter polls because respect is there.

We are getting low BCS rankings because we are getting killed in the computer ratings. Two of them have us at #21. Our average in the computer rankings is #13.

It is still to early to get to worked up. First let's take care of Bama (at least a 14pt victory) and not stumble against Ole Miss and Arkansas. Then we can make a real statement in the SEC title game.
