    Just a note:
This information came from Ott who did not claim it was a done deal but is just what he is hearing. This coupled with Les' comments today mean this deal may not be done just yet.

fair enough...but if a middle of the packer could accomplish so much over 5 years after inheriting a diminished program, whose to say another similar coach may not be able to do as much or even more after inheriting a great program. I'm not "pulling" for Miles but if he's the guy then it won't hurt to remember that you don't have to have a big name to do big things...all that said you're entitled to your dissapointment.

and...all things considered, I kinda like the idea of someone coming in looking to make a name and with something to prove.

And we just happened to catch lightning in a bottle 5 years ago. If you think that's likely to happen again, then you're far more optimistic than I am, my friend.

Hiring this guy, IMHO, would be like giving the keys to your Escalade to a guy that can't get insurance because of his driving record.

Not optimistic at all...just stating that this whole theory that Miles is bad because of his record is a joke of a theory considering he has made OSU a very solid overall program when it was virtually nothing when he got there....now OSU is recruiting at the best level it ever has and has been to...2-3 straight bowls? Something they had never done I believe in 20 years....

That last analogy I don't get at all.....Miles has a fine driving record.....and to think he can't succeed because of not being able to dominate at OSU is quite baffling to me.

I am not sure who you expected LSU to get....Stoops? Carroll? Fulmer? Richt?

Correct, we have been to 3 straight bowls only once before in school history. Never been to 4 straight. With the cupboard loaded for next year and some excellent recruits coming in, OSU will start writing some new history next year. Word going around here is that it may actually be some influential OSU boosters and some politics driving Coach Miles away, not necesarily that he wants another job. His wife is in yesterday's papers quoted as saying they are not going anywhere. She loves Stillwater. They have 4 young children. Stillwater is a great place to raise a family. I'm very anxious to see what happens.

    He's 28-21 at OSU in 4 years. 4-7, 8-5, 9-4, 7-5.

OSU had one winning season in 12 years before he got there.

We have gone to three straight bowls, one in the 12 years before him.

If you don't want him, we'll keep him.

Oh yeah, how many of you guys know who the only Coach in D-1 is to have beaten Bob Stoops 2 times?

If Oklahoma was in the SEC you would know the answer!
