I am continuing to stay positive thru-out all the media negativity. I could comment on the recent failures of Texas, Oklahoma, and USC at never winning the big games and closing strong, yet returning the next season to be ranked in the top ten and not having the media all over their backs. I’ll agree, a 8 win and then a 9 win season coming off a BCS national championship is unacceptable, BUT ONLY IN TIGER COUNTRY.
My focus is not Les Miles, not on the media, not on the pre-season rankings, not on last years offensive ranking, and whether of not JJ is the guy.
Because All I see, Is that we lost 3 games last year in the regular season. 3 games in a conference that has Dominated the sport of college football the last 4 season, and seasons before those, (LSU in 2003, Auburn in 2004). Our 3 losses all were questionable, regardless of the lack of production on the offense side of the football (Florida, Hell of a Defensive stand by LSU, giving up only 1 touchdown on play that was an obvious missed call on offensive pass interference, But regardless…. LSU played the Gators Good, and Myer & The Gators know that! - Sorry BAMA Fans, I feel we dominated you in every aspect of the game the first 3 quarters, but Injuries and depth caught up to us, and you guys deservingly pulled out the win, but we played you hard, we played at your house, coming off your bye week, we played you a hell of a lot harder than UF did the SECCG game, and Texas did in the BCS game – AND YOU KNOW THAT, but this year, we got you in Death Valley, coming off our bye week as well AND TRUST ME – ITS ON!!!!!, as for the Ole’ Miss Game, well……no need to comment on that)
Anyhow, I saw the good in every down we snapped the football last season. Every snap for Jefferson was another snap under his belt, every time critical situation was more experience gained for both JJ and Miles in clock management.
Going into 2010, LSU finally has a QB under center who started and completed a season the previous year, we have a bigger & stronger O-Line, we have running back & receiving corps of sick speed and talent taking our playbook to a whole new level. We have The Number ONE Cornerback in the nation, leading, coaching, and guiding our secondary, and preparing them for championship level football. We have a 1st team All American Line backer coaching, guiding, and leading our linebackers as well as a HUGE group 8 deep of HUNGRY, ANGRY, AGGRESSIVE defensive lineman out to prove that LSU will be the #1 Defense in the SEC & the Nation this year!
So screw the media, screw the disgruntled fan base, screw the distractions, IMHO, anything less than returning to Atlanta this Christmas, IS FAILURE!!!!
There is too much talent, emotion, skill, anger, and hunger, storming that field in Purple & Gold this season to lay down and take a loss.
39 Days, 9 hours, and 5 minutes – LSU FOOTBALL BABY!!!!!!!
