Phil Knight and Oregon track coach Bill Bowerman, got in hot water for ruining Bowerman's wife's waffle iron. Many years later the waffle iron and other waffle sole prototypes were found in a garbage pit on Bowerman's ranch. They're now at the NIKE museum in Beaverton.
