Neither Jackie Gleason nor Andy Griffith ever won an Emmy for the classic TV comedies they starred in. But Art Carney and Don Knotts won 5 Emmy's each for their performances as the stars' sidekicks.

Never was much of a 'Honeymooners' fan, so I don't know alot about Carney's character on that show, but Don Knotts totally deserved his Emmys because he made that 'The Andy Griffith Show'. Just look at how much it sucked when he left.

Every "quirky friend next door" character in the history of TV sitcoms owes thanks to Carney's Ed Norton.

The straight man never gets the awards. Would you vote to give the Oscar or Emmy to Moe or would you vote for Curley?
