I am not saying to suport john fine, just to get local sports back on the radio in the mornings.I guarantee those of you who say you don't like fines show listened to every now and then, especially on monday mornings. The contacts i provided are to be used for the purpose of getting a local show back on in the mornings. If you know of someone you would rather listen too in the mornings then lets us and clear channel know.

I agree with people that say Mike and Mike should be on the air. It should be. It is a really good show. Its professional and its entertaining. People want to wake up in the morning, not be put to sleep. You have to have an energetic, pumped up morning show. Listen to Mike and Mike. Its upbeat and they have fun. I have nothing against Fine, but the truth is, that show was terrible for its purpose which should be to wake people up and get them going. That seemed more fitting for zombie truckers at 3 in the morning. My show is gone and it probably should be. It never really came to be anything more than what it was. I think I can be better and will put a better show on if given the opportunity. It will come along eventually. I think I can wake people up in the mornings.

For a new person to make it they need to bring something to the table. Being hyper isn't enough. I remember Blake Andrews brought on one of the guys who did a computer ranking for the BCS and that was something I really appreciated and I think many people probably appreciated. Songy and Ott have connections and a relationship with the people of Baton Rouge. A new guy probably needs to have some love for the tigers. That should be mixed with interesting commentary and other segments that are of interest to college football fans. Maybe bring in a host that broadcasts in the opposing team's home town. Get some people with national perspective. Talk to people who are actively looking for ways to get a playoff.

I thought you did pretty good scrappy, though you may have been a bit too unbiased. If you aren't an LSU guy, how is a town full of LSU people going to embrace you. It is possible, but it just makes your job that much tougher.

Well since posting this thread it has been brought to my attention by several previous sponsors of the two programs that were cancled that they are being contacted by 1150 wjbo to move their sponsorships over to their political station, and these people do not want to advertise on a political station ,especially the same station that cancled them in the first place. They are still interested in sponsoring a sports program, maybe there is a local radio station that has enough antenna to broadcast another sports show in the baton rouge area?Josh,I think with a few more years under your belt and not having a program with someone that constantly berates you on air would do you alot of good.I know your dad has alot of pull in the broadcasting business and that's ok but next time if there is one,try going solo,or having someone on air to back you up.Nothing against blake but you two just didn't sound good together.

Thanks for the kind words meauxjeaux. Im going to be honest with you, it was a mess sometimes on the show. The problem was, my partner would disagree with me all the time. He never agreed and many times the points I would make were almost facts. He would even dispute facts. It made it difficult at times. He talked over me a lot and didn't give me a chance to finish what I was saying yet he complained that I was the only one that did that on the show. I was told I kept callers on to long. haha..listen to tapes, callers were about 2 mins or so when I did it alone. When it was the other way around MFP stayed on for 20 mins. I tried to do a professional job and I think at times it did sound professional. He claimed I constantly talked over callers. According to him, he didnt do that. He basically tried to tear me down all the time. Even on air he would. How can someone insult someone for having their **** straight??? How can you bash someone b/c you do show prep??? I like the guy as a person and I appreciate his hard work in other endeavors, but on the show it never worked out.

Your on-air partner was clueless and constantly made fallacious arguments. You were 1000000x better than him. He had no business on a sports talk radio show.

I appreciate the compliment. I know that I wasn't great but I would start getting pissed when he'd argue with me about factual stuff. I once said that Michael Jordan had a gambling problem...he said I didnt know that. He knocked me on air for having the box score from the previous LSU basketball game to use on the air. He knocked me on air for having a book of the SEC basketball stats to help back up some arguements. He would constantly knock me for no reason on stuff like that.

i'm not sure if this is true. maybe josh can confirm or deny that.

I have no clue if that is true or not. I know that Kennedy was an advocate of local talk. He, Ott and Songy are boys and I dont think they'll be off unless they want to be. That is what I think. They both have shows that are good for the market and thats really all we need right now.
