Someone brought something to my attention that piqued my curiosity about Auburn and LSU logos. Check out these two: They are the exact same logo. Now I have no idea when the Auburn one first appeared, nor do I know anything about the LSU one. I know neither one of them are used very often anymore. Not officially anyway. I have an old Auburn shirt that has the logo on it though. Anybody know anything about this? I found it odd.
The LSU logo has been around since the 30's. I have a decal from 39 of the LSU one but think it was around in the mid 30's.
The comic tiger logo is entirely generic and has been used by many colleges and high schools. It was most popular at LSU in the late 50's and 60's.
I found the Aubie one and posted a WTF post on it. I've associated that logo with LSU since I was a kid. That is why I found it odd.
