    Its too bad that N.O. got the Hornets instead of picking up a baseball team... would have done alot better with attendance and they could have really kicked up the farm system here.
  2. I think Texas would take exception to that statement with 6 teams in the top 25. The "Mighty" Vols are trying to have a good baseball team this year too. It's gonna be tough to win the CWS this year. Here's to LSU & Tulane both hosting Super Regionals!
  3. Baseball polls are fairly meaningless at this time of year. Most (not all) schools haven't played many tough opponents yet and coaches are juggling lineups looking for that right combination. More importantly, pollsters know little about many of the teams and probably haven't seen more than 4-5 actually play. It's nice to be ranked but this early.....it doesn't mean much.
  4. How can LSU suffer a loss and drop one whereas Tulane does the same but stays at #1... polls are strange.

  7. Stanford is ranked 11th and they've lost 6 games. Texas, a perennial CWS participant, is 15-0 and, in reality, should be #1.

    To answer your question, Tulane lost to Pepperdine which is probably more highly regarded by the voters than is Houston.
  8. Thank you. I was seriously looking for an explanation. As you can see, I don't follow baseball as much as I would say, football or basketball.
  9. Exactly. I think Texas is #1 right now. Last month, they swept 3 from Stanford, something few teams do. They play smart, are good at small ball, have some pop in the lineup, lots of speed, and in the minds of many, the best coach in college baseball.

    By the way, Keith Moreland does the color on their radio broadcasts and is as good as I've heard doing college baseball.
  10. Well.. considering the relative population of each state... I'd say, per capita, that Louisiana has some claim to fame here.. :)
