How many are on the ballot tomorrow? Anything particularly noteworthy?

CA has 17....and one "measure". Taxes, taxes, taxes. Illegals. Gun control. Death penalty. Big pharma. And plastic bags.

6 and 2 taxes. Nothing exciting like cali.

    1. Make Parish Registrars have specific qualifications.
    2. Allow LSU instead of state legislature to set tuition.
    3. Simplify corporate tax code by making a flat corporate rate.
    4. Expand homestead exemption for widows of military, police, and firemen.
    5. Set further restrictions on what state money can be spent on.
    6. Allow state legislature to raid restricted funds by loosening the definition of emergency.

Tax 1 - Pay $28/$200k in property taxes to council on aging
Tax 2 - Renew maintenance fund for parks & rec

I'm counting on you to vote for recreational
Pot. It's gonna make a bunch of people money illegally if you don't, may as well let the state get some money.

I can't remember, it was explained in detail last night by someone and I wrote it all down like that. Let me dig I'll get back in a few.

Ok so for number 6 for me it will give lawmakers another way to kick the can down the road and not make tough budget decisions, they will just be able to raid certain funds.

YYYYYN, Y to the 2 taxes; I'm against most federal programs but think local programs make our communities better (Especially parks, which have been really improving in the past few years)

Funny, I thought I was lock step in line with you but I'm almost completey lock step against you. Here's how I planned to vote:

    1. yes
    2. yes
    3. yes
    4. no
    5. yes
    6. yes

4 is good in theory and will pass because everyone will see that it benefits widows of first responders but the law is too vague. There should be other requirements. What if the widow has $50 million and buys a $10 million house. Should they be exempt from taxes?
