1. Am I the only one (probably) that thinks its a shame that all of the Louisiana schools are in two regionals and those two will face each other in the super? I would like to see at least a couple of Louisiana teams with a chance to make it to Omaha.. with the setup now, one one has the chance to go... only positive is that Louisiana has a 62.5% chance to have a team in omaha....
  2. I don't think the NCAA was happy about the situation the last time 2 Louisiana schools went to CWS. Just hopefully the Tigers will be the team that represents the state. :tigbas: :geauxtige LSU! LSU!
  3. No, I have been harping on that all season, and think it shows a lack of respect for Louisiana schools. California has teams in three seperate pairings so they could get three schools in the CWS.

    I think it sucks!!
  4. I wouldn't have minded seeing two Louisiana teams in it but frankly I enjoy watching LSU go to it while Toolame and ULL stay home
  5. In 1987, Louisiana placed five teams in the field of 48. The NCAA, first to show their love for the state, placed LSU, UNO, Tulane, LaTech, and Southern in the same regional at UNO, seeded behind # 1 Cal State- Fullerton.

Southern, in one of the best non-LSU games I've seen, beat CSF 1-0 to drop them in the losers bracket. That entire regional was anti-NCAA and anti-California. LSU, scum, UNO fans were cheering against the surfers. The worm fans were actaully cheering for LSU over CSF in the championship. It'll never happen again, but it was certainly one great regional.

Here's the Jags duplicating that feat and winning their 1st game!
  6. It sucks that all of them all in the same bracket.
  7. I am fine with it... College baseball is still in the stages where it needs to maximize ticket sales for these regionals. LSU will sell out regardless of who is there. Tulame's series got a boost from the two Louisiana teams, along with Alabama.

Point is that right now it's all about ticket sales and that's the way it has to be. I really wish college baseball could catch on nationally at some point in the near future. :/
  8. Bobby Hebert was talking to Turtle Thomas about this on the radio earlier. Nothing to report there other than he has respect for all the other LA teams. Bobby, his co-host (I can't remember his name) and some college baseball "expert" agree that they expect LSU to take on Tulane in the Super Regional at Zephyr Field.

They also said that it may have to do with the lack of ability to make money off of multiple Louisiana teams. Then they went into the years that four or five SEC west teams made the college world series and then went on to group them together from then on.
