1. Did anybody else get burned by that Kentucky TD with 5:00 left in the game? The spread landed on 28. OUCH! :dis:
  2. One of the few pieces of advice from my Dad that I actually chose to use:

"Never bet more than you are willing to lose."

So I don't bet. Besides, those bookies usually know their business.
  3. Never bet on the home boys.
  4. Let me add to that, NEVER bet on LSU. I think we were better last year but traditionally don't cover. WORSE than that, like yesterday, it will make a 28 point margin of victory hollow cause you'll lose.

PLUS, Miles' method if effective- he wins. It's not about blowing teams out of the water though. I was tickled at half yesterday when he said he'd like a couple more scores.
  5. Sound advice. I very rarely bet for or against the Saints or Tigers. I won't say 'never' because I occasionally bet for them to cover when I get a certain feeling about a game, but it's few and far between.

Like today, I had the Saints -7 and had to sweat it out until the very end. I just thought they'd blow Jacksonville out and in the 1Q, it was looking good. Then, J-ville got a couple of turnovers and their defense got better as the game went along and I just knew they would score a garbage TD at the end to pull within 6. I got lucky today, but was regretting my bet when I was on pins and needles until that last 4th down play went incomplete.

  6. I didnt I bet the house on Kentucky...

    Why?
Because the game was before noon. LSU had just run the gambit of hype and travel and I expected LSU to be flat andndo just enough to win.UK I figured would pull out all the stops. I predicted LSU 35-10. Was pretty close. But I had my biggest wager of the year on it. Again I knew LSU would win but I got it At 31.5.

It was a sweat but the last td made me happy. LSU blowout and I made scheckels..
  7. Yeah I don't see how you EVER bet on LSU as a heavy favorite. The record must be one sided in favor of choosing the opponent. Les doesn't give a flip about style points.
  8. I think LSU has covered the spread something like 3 times over the last 4 years. Pretty much a lock. I have made some good money.:D

Ok I know that was about as corny as it gets but I still thought it was funny.

  10. More like 3 times in the first 4 games just this season. They covered against Oregon, Miss St and West VA. They have proved to be quite profitable for me this year. :thumb:
