    1974-77.

    Major: Petrochemical Engineering
    Minor: Philosophy
    (typical left brain/right brain dichotomy)

Woke up after 6 semesters in a 5 year curriculum to discover that I lost the desire to be an engineer. (The calculus was to blame  )

Was going to continue in my minor when I discovered the only way to make money in philosophy is to write books or teach.
I am not well suited for either. (At least not then I wasn't)

Have been involved here in the Bay Area in technical plastic sales since 1979 and I make more $$$ than both of my best friends from BR who have LSU degrees.

They STILL rub it in that they have degrees and I don't.

    Y'know, I don't have a degree, but I DO have scoreboard.

I believe my time at LSU was well spent.
I still remember most of it fondly (especially my sophomore fall semester coaching a freshmen girls [East dormitory] powder-puff football team - YOW!)

    True. :sob:

I paid $325K for my then 41 yr old house in 2000, it is now worth $475K.

Not a bad investment, eh?

My friend in Houston has a $200K house (3 years old).

My friend in BR has a $150K house (15 years old), but he is moving to Okie City for work because he can't find good paying work as a chemist/mgr in the BR area...

I'm 17 as well, but live in Baton Rouge. I'll probably be going to the LSU Honors College next year- maybe I'll see you at school.
