Larry Porter is not going to be named head coach but he might be named OC according to this report.

Also says LSU will be replacing Crowton, Porter, and McCarthy after the season.

Behind what corner are these guys getting their sources?

I didn't understand the HC rumor but I can definitely see him being an OC. very rarely do people go from position coach to Head Coach in one move.

    Why would they replace DJ?

Many have said he is an excellent recruiter but not a great WR coach. I would like to keep him but I suspect it has to do more about LSU not expected to hold onto him in the offseason because he will get some nice offers.

I can understand that, but how much does it hurt our recruiting in 2011.

In the grand scheme of things, not much. McCarthy isn't our main recruiter in the state and focused more on the national recruiting. Plus, there is plenty of time to get someone else in here with even bigger ties to the state and he will have a year to get acquainted with the LA high school coaches and prospects. If we lose both Porter and McCarthy, look for LSU to replace them with 2 guys with strong ties to LA and Texas.

    Any speculation on replacements?

What, no Stud? He should be the first one out the door.
