You know I don't disagree with you. There are certainly good ways to attack a zone, and you have to move the ball around and inside the zone. I guess my point is that I think by now, with 3 core guys from a final four team that saw a lot of zone last year... I don't think the problem is as simple as LSU doesn't know how to attack the zone. We have to hit open shots, and move the ball when the zone collapses on Big Baby, whether it's to a jump shooter or a slasher. You set screens in the zone to get open shots, and if you do watch LSU closely, they do screen on the wings to free the 3 pointers on the side. Unfortunately, we don't always make 'em and when you have to integrate Martin, Mason and Minor back into the mix it takes time for those folks to understand how Temple, Mitchell and Davis play, when to cut, where to be on the court, etc.

This discussion is also somewhat irrelevant in the context of Washington, b/c they didn't really play much zone. They actually used a strategy that Brady typically uses... aggressive man d, and aggressive post double teams on Big Baby to neutralize the primary scoring option on the other team, and outhustle the other team on d and for rebounds. Essentially, they beat us at our own game, and shot the ball well.

I also hear a lot about the "motion" that Knight runs and how great it is. Well, I don't know if I'd trade Brady and this LSU team for Knight and Texas Tech's team... would you? I guess my point is yes, to some, LSU's offense may seem not all that pretty but for the most part it can be effective albeit not spectacular. I'm not going to be that critical of the offense yet, until late January.
