Will somebody let me know when the basketball threads turn into discussions about basketball and not about how bad the coach is? I won't be opening any of the threads until then.

I said it last night and The Advocate writer is saying the same thing today. The guards cannot play defense. If the guards cannot play defense then we are sunk. Our guards are handicapped because of their lack of height. If they play close the opposing guard drives around them. If they back off, the taller guards just shoots over them.
If only we had signed Jackson and Zeno, who both went to Texas Tech, we would have the personnel to compete. I have no idea if we recruited those guys or not. If we didn't then Brady and Butch made a terrible error in judgement.
We never had that problem when Torris Bright was on the floor.

It is hard to imagine that Mitchell and Minor, two of the quickest players in the league, can let bigger guards blow by them. I agree that their lack of height hurts in defending the three.

Brady may have to consider a bigger lineup. Rotate Mitchell and Minor at the point and move Hudson to the 2 spot. Neltner at the 3 spot? But then this would hurt the offense.

I won't be surprised if they go back to a more deliberate offense and slow the game down...

I know that everyone here thinks he is a waste of a roster spot, but this team would be better with Xavier Whipple starting at PG and moving Minor/Mitchell to SG. I'm totally convinced that we have one of the three best big man in the country in Brandon Bass and we're going to have nothing to show for it.

Well then don't plan on opening any.

Brady, at this point, deserves to be bashed. If you can't see that now, then you won't ever see that. And I was a Brady supporter until now.

You give new meaning to "going down with the ship".

I was under the impression that we had one of the top recruiting classes in hoops. Is that correct? I seemed to recall that some of the incoming guys were highly touted?

We only got 1 recruit worth noting, but he was a top 10 prospect in the nation. He is the real deal.

This coach has no control over this team and is horrible at coaching kids. The W. Virginia game illustrated how a well coached team looks like versus how a poorly coached team looks like. It was an embarrassment.

Isn't it the same thing at this point? The most dominant theme of this team is that the coach sucks and the team will until he is replaced by someone better. If you want to read basketball threads that say something other than the coach sucks you better not open any until we have one that doesn't. Everyone seems to think that Skips biggest job is to find someone to replace Saban should he leave but that should be fairly easy with all the quality coaches that will get in line when the time comes. A much much larger task for Skip will be finding someone brave enough to take over this train wreck that Brady has created. Good luck on that one Skip!!!!!!!!

This team doesn't play good defense, the guards are too short.
Who does the recruiting for this team and offer scholarships?
There are some serious questions about recruiting just like i questioned it last year
    during the middle of recruiting.
Then there is the coaching which seems to have gone south.

There isn't one thing this team does right other than lose or play inconsistant.
They had 16 to's against Houston which led to the 20 pt spread.
They either don't shoot well in this game or do defend in another, there usually is never something in common from game to game except missing free throws or
    shooting a low percentage.

I said last year this team would be more effective as a running team, but they would
have to play better defense and then they would get more fast break opportunities, their guards are more suited for that style of play especially when they don't shoot
very well from the field in most games.

Look at the Utah game last year for instance.
There is a huge difference in the way Bradys team played with Swift and company until now but not sure why?
