I just got back from a conference at Disneyworld in Orlando. Your new Chancellor was the keynote speaker, even though he was speaking in his currrent capacity as the NASA Administrator. He signed off his address with "Go Tigers" and said it just like I would. I reminded him it was "Geaux Tigahs." He laughed and said "yeah I better remember." He's a good guy.

We should have given Emmerett, Saban's contract... that was a huge blow for the "Master Plan", Hopefully O'Keefe will stay the course and Blanco will cough up some money for the Flagship University in La.
I don't think there was anything we could have done to keep Emmerett. He took a huge cut in pay to go back to where he was from. Money wasn't an issue. Has Blanco visited the campus at all. I know she has made the rounds to the other local schools. Of course her lack of desire to come over to LSU might have something to do with all of us booing her cousin off the stage at the National Championship trophy presentation at Tiger Stadium. Have I said lately how much fun that day was?
Blanco has been on campus many times, almost weekly. She gave a major address in my building last week to announce an agreement on coastal research with the Corps of Engineers.
I wasn't keen on Blanco at first because of husband and ULL. However, she has been a pleasant surprise regarding LSU. She is extremely supportive of the Flag Ship agenda and is more pro-LSU than the previous two LSU alumni governors!
