The SEC is too fast for this, Kentucky tried it a few years ago. It just creates lanes for quick blitzing linebackers and defensive backs.

I remember watching CS, his last year in HS. He was held to negative yards in that game with around 10 or 12 carries. I remember thinking, this kid-this kid is going to LSU. However, he was getting hit in the backfield all night. And then it finally happened, the line opened up a hole. He got about 3 yards before contact and then dragged about 5 or 6 kids for about a 10 yard gain. The whole crowd was just awed by that run and it definitely was impressive. He just seems to be a totally different rb when he gets through to the second level. I just don't see him having any success this year unless the O-line gets better.

Charles Scott will most definitely not make it in the NFL as a tailback.

He will need to beef up and learn how to block really well so he can stick with a team.

I hope he succeeds because I always liked him.

    LaSalleAve when in doubt, mumble

I think he will make it, he would be a good situational back, 3rd and short, goal line. He may not get drafted but he could be like a lamont jordan, ron dayne type back.

I think he'll make a great fullback/ST/role player just like Hester.

I don't know about Scott, but personally...I like it when someone tells me I can't do it.

    My response..."Just watch and see."

He may or may not make it but it has zero to do with his speed and everything to do with who drafts him. Very few NFL RBs have blazing speed. You can probably count them on one hand. Okay, maybe two hands...

Scott's tough, selfless, and very coachable. I'd say the chances are better than average he does just fine in the NFL at TB/RB.

NFL scouts understand why Scott is having a tough year. He'll get drafted.

This mock draft thinks late 3rd round. So does this one.

This one has him rated as the #2 RB available in the 2010 Draft (behind only CJ Spiller), and they project him in the 2nd Round (and this is even after they have the little arrow there to indicate that his stock has been falling).
Charles Scott*|*LSU,*RB*:*2010 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile

This one also projects him as a 2nd Round pick in the 2010 Draft (even after pointing out that "It was slower going for Scott through six games of his senior campaign, as the LSU offense struggled as a whole."):
