I am a huge WVU fan and was on your site all week last week just to get your views on last night's game. After reading your pregame comments and postgame comments.. I have this question.. Was or is there anything the WVU team, WVU coach, WVU fans, or the people of West Virginia could or can do for your respect???? All I have read is how bad of people we are and how pathetic of a team WVU is... I have always had much respect for the LSU program, but the stereotypical and hateful comments I have read were very disappointing.. We are good people in West Virginia.. We are far from hillbillies.. WVU's football team does the best it can do with the resources a state our size can muster.. I just wanted to get that off my chest.. I wish you and your LSU football team the best of luck the rest of the season! -Dave from WV
A message board is a place where geniuses and idiots combine their prejudices into a collective front of anger and intolerance towards anyone they see as an outsider. Think you had it bad? Try being from another in-state school...
Well, you guys have a hell of an offense, I'll say that. No way did I see your offense getting 500 plus total yards against a D that some were calling the best in LSU's history. Part of it was gameplanning to guard against heavy screening that you guys do, but no way an elite defense should give up that many yards to any team for any reason. As for disrespect on a message board, go look at yours and see some of the post your fans are saying about us, then come back and talk to me.
I think loco said it well. I've got respect for the WVU football team, but last night they were just Tiger bait, just like any other team we play any other week. Nothing personal, it's just business. Honestly though, I wish them nothing but the best from here on out. Smith is a hell of a QB. That said, my advice to you is to grow a thicker skin.. It's football and trash talk is going to happen, especially on the message boards. I could point you to some prime examples of classlessness on WVU's forums as well, so don't act like this is the only place it goes on. Good luck to your team.
Respect is earned. I believe your team earned that last night from most of the tiger fans. However, your coach and fan base do not deserve any of our respect. How classless is it to boo an LSU offensive player that is hurt on the field. I can understand booing defensive players that fall down injured when WV is moving the ball, but an offensive player that is hurt? It's about as classless an act that a fan base can do, and I'm glad that Herbie pointed it out to all of America. Your team has my respect, but that's it.
You have to look past the swagger of some of the more boisterous fans. Inter-school rivalry in the SEC is often hot and pointed. The first respect you have been paid is to be treated like an SEC rival, not one of the usual out-of-conference rent-a-wins. TigerFans were impressed with you stadium and turnout. It isn't as big as an SEC stadium but it is attractive and certainly full of spirited fans. Some of them may be overly rowdy, but our own fans have been accused of the same, so we can relate. We do not get the couch-burning thing, I admit. Your coach seems like a good one, bad hair and all. He has much to learn, but he is young. He needs to work the referees better. Screaming at them the whole game does not help him much with that. The fans like it though. Your team is clearly deserving of the top-25 ranking and everyone is happy that we won't face another passing offense like that one this season. With all due respect, the vitriol on the West Virginia boards was fairly disrespectful of LSU and Louisiana in general. If you read the board last week, then you should now that one of our regulars, a talented restauranteur, spent last week in West Virginia cooking Louisiana brunches for charity to benefit the West Virginia mine disaster families. That ain't exactly disrespect. And also to you.
This. What a turn off. That being said, major props to Geno Smith, your receivers, and your OL. Go win the Big East. I'll pull for you to win out, just as I pull weekly or Oregon to win out. Neither of you can hurt us now, and it's not personal.
Honestly most of us could care less about the big east. Many dont think it should be a bcs conference but i do. Now that we beat you, i hope we never play again because that offense is not used in the sec and it is too risky to play there and lose a shot at the bcsncg just my opinion there. Anyway i hope you guys win out now. Good luck. And i suggest you ignore the name callers. Believe me, we get our share.
Dave, We were invaded by wvu posters last year that came on our board to only stir the pot. We had one of your posters come on here stirring the pot just last week. This is what I posted on that thread last week: Quote: bleauxmetigr said.... Quit talkn smack about WV.. It was close last yr in your house.. It should be a good game this yr.. Bleauxme, We had some great posters from Oregon that came to this board and talked football. They were cool to us and for the most part we were cool to them. One duck has just about become part of the tigerfan family. Believe me that we enjoy fans from other teams that come here and talk football with respect. In the past we haven't had many eerrs that have come here like that. They come on our board and tell us chit like we phuck our sisters and eat road kill bla bla bla. With a name like bleauxmetiger, you are not going to make any friends and you aren't going to find anyone that really wants to talk football with you. Believe it or not, lsu and wvu have a lot in common. Both of us are called rednecks, trailer trash, inbred, stupid and all the other nasty sterotypes. What we both are is passionate football fans that love our teams and are proud of our heritage and where we live. Both lsu and wvu are disrespected by the media , the idiots on the east and west coast that treat us like were frickin rednecks and apperently each other. Do you want to discuss the x's and o's of this game or do you want to talk chit? You can ask the duck fan, giantduckfan, we can be a great bunch and fun to be around. We can be lsu homers and be a little arrogant, but most of all we can be really cool. The duck has been around for months. We have 2 cool as hell bama fans that hang out here, an auburn tiger and an ole miss fan. It's up to you. Do you want to talk football or are you like the army of eerrs that came on here last year talking smack? You're not gonna get much respect with bleauxmetiger though, just sayin. We have tried to be cool with wvu posters but ones that actually want to be cool and talk football are very few and extremely far between.
