NEW FACE: Brett Helms, a freshman from Stuttgart, Ark., who played in two games last season, continues to be the talk of spring drills at left guard on the offensive line.

"I like ole Helms," Miles said. "I think he's playing pretty well."

Davis has also noticed Helms along with Peter Dyakowski, a Vancouver, British Columbia, native who will be a junior next season.

"Helms is really having a good spring," Davis said. "He's gotten a little help on that side from (left tackle) Andrew Whitworth. Kyle Williams (defensive tackle) likes the way Helms plays."
