Can someone explain the differences between an authentic Riddel helmet vs a replica (no smart a** responses please)
The replicas probably don't go thru the same quality control. I have seen some replicas that appear to be made from the same material as a game helmet. I would have to assume the quality control for the replicas would be less stringent.
There must be some serious difference, because a Riddell authentic costs $225.00 and the replica is only $90.00
About 50% of the weight and 1/2 of the brain protection of authentic ... there is a site for helmet specs
