    BigWee_TEAMKATT Victory for LSU!!!

ESPN commented last night that we were the first team to have two WR's taken in the first round in quite some time, may be ever....but don't quote me on that.

I think they put up a chart that showed it happened two times before. Now we know why we finished 3rd in the nation last year, and with the underclassmen coming back, you can mention us in the list of contenders for the national championship this year.

I think it's a fair assessment, especially considering Doucet will be a top 15 pick, and there are probably four more guys behind him with great pro potential. LSU has recruited well at WR, for whatever reason. Similar to Auburn and their steady stream of RBs.

Hell, we're not doing too bad at RB either.

LSU has traditionally had a run-oriented offense, but in the last several years we have been able to establish a terrific passing game. That's what wide receivers are looking for when they chose a school.

Getting selected is one thing, making a successful NFL career is another. Ask Big Mike Williams, Ryan Leaf, and Freddie Mitchell how things are working out.

Michael Clayton hasn't exactly burned up the sidelines in Tampa and Devery Henderson has got to be hearing Meachem's footsteps this morning. Meachem is 6'3" and Devery is just 5'11". Patrick Turner from Tennesse is a similarly sized talent who should also draft well. Based on recent results, I'd also say aOSU will continue to have a hand in recruiting solid WR prospects.

Michael Clayton DID burn the sidelines in Tampa. He had a terrific year, then got injured because of his willingness to make plays all the time. So you cant really label a guy like this as a bust.
As for Devery, he hasnt been known to be that good of a WR in the first place. He has terrific speed and is a constant deep threat. A guy like him is like Randy Moss, put him with a strong armed QB that can make the deep throw and he will nourish. We all know he's not a #1 possession guy.
Bowe will have a very solid rookie year, and will be in the competition for the ROY. Buster Davis will most probably be just like Addai, a guy that will play his best and help his already great team to win a superbowl. As for Doucet, this guy is the real deal. He does everything. He returns kicks, covers kicks and punts, an all around WR, takes snaps as a tailback, gets a lot of screen passes that he can take for a distance, hell, he even played QB in highschool, so he can probably throw decently.
