When you grow up you'll learn to handle these little setbacks.

I actually went to the Saints game this weekend, only because of good free seats. I have to say that Aaron Brooks looked really good in person, except for his mental lapses. But that defense was something bad. They do not have an NFL linebacker. None hit a running back before they got 6 yards.

While I no longer arrange my Sundays around the Saints, I have to admit that I still pull for them. I certainly don't keep up with them like I used to. However, I thought that the defense was supposed to be a strong point this year. Is this correct ?

I don't know if it was supposed to be good or not but they looked very bad. I don't see it changing because they are seriously lacking in talent. I hate to be so judgemental so early in the year but it was obvious.

Well, let's see. Can't stop the run, can't defend the short pass, can't defend the long pass, OL can't open any holes, can't protect the QB, Pathon and Stallworth can't catch, Brooks can't hold on to the ball for more than 3 plays in a row, Deuce is out for 5 games and Ki Jana Carter is now the Man. Yeah, it must be fun to be a Saints fan. :dis:

I really think Haslett did a bad job at this last draft. I thought for sure he'd use all of the Saints picks on defensive players (especially a good linebacker), but instead he got one good defensive player (Will Smith) and felt it necessary to pick up more on offense. The Saints already had offense, it was their defense that lacked. Maybe he did the most with where their first pick fell, but IMO he did a poor job.
