Voogd stepped it up and really looked comfortable out there tonight running the offense. Made some great assists as well as some steals on D. Wonder how long it's been since a Tiger had a PERFECT shooting night like Voogd did tonight with at least as many attempts as he had?
in no way, shape or form has magnum rolle ever looked like the five star recruit that he was. decent night for voogd though.
GT and Taz shot the ball well, and they played well. I was not sold on Voogd at the start of the year, but he has played some solid basketball for the start of the season, and last night he looked outstanding!! He looks a lot more comfortable playing out there this season. I am not worried about the guards this year, I am worried about who's going to help take the load off of Glen. Tack WHO?? When Terry Martin enters the lineup there will be no room for Tack at all. Especially if Voogd keeps playing the way he is playing. Temple, Mason, Voogd, Martin. Temple going to play regardless of what happens. Martin will get some quality minutes b/c he can play and is the best shooter on the team. Mason already starts and Voogd is playing well, so I don't see where Tack fits.
Thats what we thought as well, but according to Jimmy Ott and his LSU basketball source whos name I forget, his back is fine.
My son and I were at that game also. My son is a McNeese graduate. It was really something hearing Matt Viatar is now the head football coach at McNeese. I have known him since he coached at Sulphur Highl.
usually doube teamed....he did something he didn't do against W-State....PASS THE BALL!!!!...if you are double/triple teamed THERE IS A MAN UNGUARDED....Brady must have stressed this because he hardly did his turn around mid-range J while double teamed.
Didn't he have a brother, or two, who also coaches. I remember him too but seemed to remember him having a brother. Isn't he from Lake Charles or Sulphur. I had coached a couple of years in Lake Charles at Oak Park Middle when I first started. I had Nick Shephard and Frank London. Nick went to LSU then had some unfortunate things happen, Frank played at Nebraska. Nick was a funny story, he was almost 7 feet tall in the 7th grade and was inititially indifferent about playing basketball. I told him he had to give it a shot and he did. After the 3rd or 4th game, I never forget him coming up to me and saying, "Coach, can I see the book." I knew I had him!
