1. Matt's father was a football coach I think at Jennings or somewhere close to there. I'm pretty sure about one brother also in coaching. The whole family was football coaches at sometime or another. When the guy that got fired at McNeese hired Matt I said that was a smart move. Matt won every year at Sulphur. He made Sulphur forget about Shannon Suarez. :)

I remember Frank London too well. Great talent.
  2. Yeah, I was close to him. When Frank was in Middle School he could do things a lot of HS quarterbacks couldn't do. We were undefeated 3 yrs in a row.

Would you know if Coach Johnny Fullerton is still living? I wonder about him sometimes. He smoke a lot, I remember him getting so mad when I wouldn't let him smoke in my truck when we'd go to scout teams. :hihi:
  3. Don't know about Fullerton, I can email some friends and try to find out.

  4. im no scout and not particularly a basketball aficionado but i never understood brady speaking so highly of rolle, especially last year. I assume he was simply trying to boost his confidence by saying hes as good as tyrus thomas or soon will be.

he's just a sophomore right? he's got time to develop i suppose but he doesnt come across as having the makeup to be dominant or the go-to guy but who knows.

wait, isnt he the guy who just started playing basketball? if so that would explain it. hes jose vargas lite. just needs to add 40 lbs, snort ephedra and attempt many more dunks.
  5. Jose Vargas. One of my all time favorite tigers. I remember him as a freshman looking like he would never contribute but by his senior year he was a force for Dale Brown.

  6. dont give up on him yet.
  7. for those who have seen the team play----what's up with Mason? with the void of O on the backcourt i expected more from him. basically tied for 3rd on team in minutes, but 5th in FG att and only one more 3pt att than BB. solid on the boards, but few assists and too many turnovers. his D doesnt seem great because of few blocks or steals.

    are the stats misleading? anyone?
  8. are we mixing sports? i knew a fullerton baseball coach. little guy with a gut and smoked a lot. havent thought of him in decades.
  9. Sounds like it could have been him if it was recreation baseball. He helped us with the team at school but wasn't an employee of the school......he knew football and basketball inside and out, I'm sure baseball too. I met him and only remained in contact with him for 3 years and I left Lake Charles and lost contact with him.
  10. yes, it was little league (13-15) in the mid 80's
