1. I heard that the Tiger Band wasnt allowed to play "neck" anymore. Is that true and if so why? did they also ban any other songs? If that is true then I am not happy about it. I love hearing that when I go to the games.
  2. :confused:where did you hear this
  3. A really good friend of mine that has been a season ticket holder for the past 20 years told me. He is very credible because he is very active in the TAF.
  4. Because the students can't stop being vulgar.....I'm not offended by it personally, but it's not worth having neck banned. Although, I think they played it last night. I'm not sure. I'm still pissed that I never got to hear "Tiger Rag" in the student section.
  5. Yes they did play it last night. Maybe it's a TS rule.
  6. Me too.

Just because you can make a song vulgar doesn't mean you should. Our fans need to learn this before we have more traditional songs banned. I'm pretty sure I heard Neck being played and that was nice.
  7. Man, it was all over the forum in a thread last year.

I was pizzed, I "interneted" Neck, found a bunch of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, I learned the words to drive my family crazy, and then learned it was banned.

As I recall, and again, the thread was long, too many drunken students were inserting bad word. I think, a national tv broadcast picked it up, a bit too clearly, and poof, that was it. Do a search, maybe you can find the informative thread.

    Geaux Tigers
"talkin out the side of your neck"
  8. I have to admit. I wanted to chant "a**hole, a**hole to "Tiger Rag". My first year in the student section was '06. That's when I first heard "Neck". There were no words voiced until '09, maybe the end of '08. I don't care that much that vulgarity was added, but the song was taken away. Neck is a thing of beauty IMO with just the song + the arm motion that goes with it.
  9. They played it
  10. They played it at the Oregon game but if I remember right it was stopped last season after the Bama game. If you watch the replay of the Tenn game you can hear pretty plainly what the student section gathered together to say. You may hear it once this season but if they break into the vulgar chant it will go the way of Tiger Rag.

Sad, really, that immaturity can ruin the Tiger Stadium experience. It's one of the reasons I'm not a marshal this season. After 8 years I'm tired of the BS.
