It is a scary, scary day....When we have Early Doucet, who by the way is picked by Rivals.com as the #1 WR for the 2008 draft last time I checked, LaFell, our incredibly talented WR recruits. Our RB situation is laughable. We could take all of our running backs and they would start at most other SEC Schools. We have the best RB in the nation hands down. Our QB is going to be solid this year I am confident of that. Our offensive line is the only perceived weak spot, but if you truly think about it we have the best athletes on it so we should be fine. I truly do feel like we are winning a Nat'l Championship this year.

    TheDude I'm calmer than you.

Agree with the first part, but not even close on the second part. I am huge believer in KW and think he will certainly blossom this year if given the chance, but Darren McFadden is the best and nobody is really even close. Hell, his backup, Felix Jones would start for us as well. McFadden could win the Heisman if Ark could actually win next year. Even with their OLine being decimated, he still will be the best back in the country.

Actually, I believe McFadden is the one of most talented RBs to come in the past 5 years, hell, he might be one of the most talented ever. And no, Reggie Bush is not considered a RB here, I describe him as an athlete.

You said not even close? How much do you know about Keiland Williams and Richard Murphy? Just because someone has yet to make national headlines due to depth charts, doesn't mean the talent is not already there. Also, Felix Jones would not be starting at LSU. What I meant and I realize I need to make sure I clarify things to not confuse, As a whole our RB's are the best in the nation. McFadden may have had a great year last year, but this is a new year. Things change. And if you do not think all of the Ark. controversy will change at least a few things with that offense next year you are kidding yourself.

Funny, I was thinking when I read this article that most writers could use the same article year after year and the only thing they would have to do is replace the names involved.

Hearing the defense is good and dominating practice is what you want to hear, and, what you'll see a lot of coaches around the NCAA say when asked about their first scrimmage.

I think you are jumping ahead of yourself here. Before Malzahn stepped foot on campus (see '05 season) McFadden and Jones were both running all over defenses in the SEC. Then, even with his injury to start the year, the offense at Arkansas didn't change dramatically. They (Nutt) still wanted to run the ball.

At this stage of the game/year you can't say that one RB will be better than another and it is for the reason you stated...the season hasn't started yet. But, you'll find it a challenge to find more than a handful that would stand with you that McFadden isn't as good as he's been characterized, here.

He's the best since Bo Jackson, I think. Hershel, Bo, and Mac are at a level quite above the next tier of SEC backs, which includes Charles Alexander and Kevin Faulk.

Neither does it mean that they will be superstars. They have to walk the walk before they can talk the talk.

Felix Jones could start anywhere in the SEC, most serious football observers would agree.

Arkansas has a big PR problem, but that's not going to make MacFadden any slower or weaker. Arkansas is going to run, run, run the football next year and MacFadden will be a Heisman candidate.

I'm very happy with our present RB situation, but it is not the best situation in the country, that is for sure. Keiland should have a very good year, but he's nowhere near McFadden at this point.

It is good to know that our DLine appears to still be dominating without Putt. Haven't heard too much recently on the development of safeties, but I guess it will be fall before that position gets solidified.

Our WRs are young, and it appears to be showing. On the bright side, looks like our concern about LaFell isn't warranted as he's showing he can be a primary WR right now.

Wow. Most serious football observers would agree? I am not saying that McFadden isn't the best in the nation. But I will also not say that Keiland Williams won't rush for 1200 and 12. Murphy is going to be used in so many ways, If you put Holliday on one side, Murphy on the other. Have Doucet line up and run a flag. I am not sure how easy that would be to stop. Especially with Williams lining up. Most football observers would also agree that Keiland Williams and Richard Murphy alone with an ok backup will serve us just fine.

 McFadden ran all over the SEC as a sophomore!!! God knows what he'll do next year. And yes, Jones would start for LSU, and let me tell you it wont even be close, Jones is very underrated because he's been under McFadden's shadow.:thumb:
