1. Bama is ranked 6th...They are going to make some noise...

Sorry this isn't just me pointing out something good about Bama, I'm a real softball fan. My grandfather is in the Alabama Softball Hall of Fame and i've been around it all my life. They have season tickets and I've tried to go when I can. It's fun!
  2. I have tried to his a pitch from a HS girl and it is not easy. like you i could only get the bat on the ball and punch it somewhere, i could not make good contact at all. I watched Jenny Finch (i think that is her name, she played for Team USA) strike out Barry Bonds in some kind of Allstar thing.

  3. the only reason he struck out is b/c he was looking at her tits.

also, the chick yesterday threw a perfect game. thats hard to do even against women. 3rd in their history and i dont think it was their ace. grambling must indeed suck a bit.

  4. ....while wondering if it was a side effect of 'roids.
  5. LSU hit a school-record 8 doubles in the 20-0 win
  6. I watch fast pitch softball all the time, and this is just high school, the ball is being pitched very fast. I could only imagine how much faster it is in college.

  7. its not really that fast, its just they're about 30 feet closer than baseball which makes it somewhat of a farce. if you have an ace like many major schools in the south then you can dominate just about anyone. then again, the fences are a lot closer so i guess it works out.

the sport is really too pitcher dominated. unlike baseball, the softball aces can throw 3 games in a row in one day so that really takes away from the sport since the top 10 pitchers each year pretty much dictate whether your team wins or not. if you don't have one of these aces you really have little hope. maybe they should move the mound farther than 60 feet.
  8. It's 43 feet and Bama's ace has a fastball equivelent of about a 90 mph fastball in baseball. Bama has 3 of those aces you're talking about...
  9. I want to say the avg. speed for fastpitch is in the upper 70's. Pretty darn fast if you ask me.
  10. And to think women's softball has been dropped as an olympic event.
