No doubt. Does anyone remember Renaldo Nehemiah. Probably not and that's exactly my point.

For those scoring of you scoring at home, he was a sprinter with world class speed who signed with the 49ers and didn't do squat.

Perrilloux is under 4.5, K. Williams and R. Murphy are both 4.4 guys, Doucet is 4.4 from what I heard, LaFell was the fastest receiver we had last season, faster than Davis (who is a 4.38 guy) and some others who havent seen PT yet.
Both Chevis and Jonathan are 4.4 guys too.

Fellers, I just don't trust all the numbers. The tracks guys like XC and Holliday have speed numbers you can trust, taken in meets with top equipment. But the heights, weights, and speeds of football players are misstated all of the time, sometimes deliberately by SID's or by someone else (recruiting sites) with an agenda.

I've been saying the same thing since last bowl season. Everybody made such a big deal about the speed of the SEC, but all they ever mentioned was the skill positions. Crap, ND had speed at skill positions...as does every other team, for that matter...including tOSU. The reason ND and tOSU were absolutely embarassed in their BCS games is because they were playing teams with "speed of the SEC", which REALLY means 'D' linemen who can motor...sub 4.8 is motoring for a 'D' lineman. Ask Troy Smith and Brady Quinn, as well as the 'O' linemen that were trying to protect them.:hihi:

You cannot really believe that, right?

Why not? The guy is very athletic.

Because Flynn is faster than RP and he runs in the 4.55--4.6 range.

I think the speed of the forty is over-rated, as football is a game of spurts of twenty yards.
