His resume is infinitely better than any of those jagoffs prior to LSU.

At first blush, he appears to be at least as good of a choice as Muschamp would have been. I'm OK as long as Chavis is running the defense.

I'd entertain the thought of Malzahn. I'd also like to see a look at Chris Peterson.

    NELA_Tigerfan When's kickoff?

Really? More spread? I'd rather see pro-style power run. Maybe just me though...

You wanna average 45 ppg or 32?

    Maybe it's just you.

they ran alot at arky when he was there. he also made mustain look good his freshman year. Those two (Malzhan/Chavis) would be fine with me and would probably work out.

I stated earlier I'd be open to Mahlzan, but I gave my reasons. ISLSTL, no offense to him, because it's just a personal preference thing, but he seems to be into the flashy spread type offenses. I'm not against them, but I'm more a fan of a power team like you mentioned.

Furthermore, LSU has situated itself for that type of team. Hilliard and Hill running behind huge OL that have been recruited? Yeah, I'll take that in a heartbeat...along with a little passing from Mett or whatever other pro style QB we have/get. That's what I'm looking forward to.

But again, my point in being OK with Mahlzahn is he seems to mix it up when he has the weapons. With Newton, what else IS there to do but get the ball in his hands. In the past, he mixed it up pretty good. Main thing, he's an offensive guy. We need help on offense. We have too many weapons to be as stagnant as we've been.

If we could score 30+ PPG, I'd be ecstatic. Just keep the ball (TOP) and wear 'em out.

On second thought I may want to see how that story would play out. If it did happen I think he is here 5 years max but might be interesting
